World leaders sent messages on Romania's National Day, highlighting their good relations with the country and their desire to continue cooperation in various fields.
US President Donald Trump emphasized the close bilateral relationship and the strategic role of Romania in the Black Sea region. "The United States and Romania share a strong, growing partnership based on strategic interests focused on security, energy cooperation, and trade", said the White House leader, while also praising Romania's contribution to regional security and within NATO.
President Donald Trump also notes that the economic relationship between the two countries has potential for expansion.
French President Emmanuel Macron also sent a congratulatory message to the head of state, mentioning security as a central point of the bilateral relationship. "France is a reliable, steadfast ally in defending NATO's eastern flank and Romania's territory", the French president added.
For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appreciated Romania's firm stance in support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity in the context of the war started by Russia, and referred to the dynamic nature of Romanian-Ukrainian relations.
Congratulatory messages also came from King Charles of Great Britain and Emperor Naruhito of Japan.
