Social-Democrat MP Alexandru Rafila says that it is very possible that on Monday the members of the governing coalition will present a final version of the measures for the reform of the public administration. However, he emphasizes that PSD maintains its point of view that the reduction of expenses should not cover only the area of the local administration.
Alexandru Rafila: Our point of view was very clear, in the sense that the institutions of the central administration must also enter into a process of reform and reduction of expenses. That is why the coalition meetings are taking place and there is still another meeting on Monday, because a conclusion has not been reached. The position of the prime minister is public, but still he is the prime minister of a coalition government, he is not a prime minister of one of the parties.
The governing coalition did not reach an agreement on the reform of the administration on Tuesday. While Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan insists on significant layoffs, between 10.000 and 12.500 employees nationwide, PSD continues to advocate for a formula in which mayors decide whether to make salary cuts or layoffs. There is also a decrease in spending through agency commissions, cuts in bonuses and allowances.
