Voting will begin abroad for the second round of the presidential election.
The first polling station will open in Oakland, New Zealand, at 22:00 (22:00 Romanian time), where it will already be 7:00 on Friday morning.
As in the first round, 965 polling stations have been set up overseas, 15 more than in last year's canceled presidential election.
They will open sequentially, according to time zones. Voting abroad will take place over three days on May 16, 17 and 18, from Friday 7am local time until Sunday at 9pm CET.
Diaspora voters or those who are temporarily abroad can vote in the presidential elections at any of the polling stations organized abroad, on the basis of an identity card issued by the Romanian state, valid on the voting day.
In the country, the presidential elections will take place on Sunday, May 18, between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. in almost 19.000 polling stations.
