Two Ukrainians who arrived in the Maramures Mountains requested assistance from Romanian authorities

Two Ukrainian citizens, who crossed the border into Romania through the Maramures Mountains, requested assistance from Romanian authorities this morning.
From one of them, with whom communication is only possible via WhatsApp, Romanian mountain rescuers learned that the other Ukrainian is in serious condition.
Weather conditions are extremely unfavorable: torrential rain and dense fog, with visibility reduced to less than 20 meters.
Rescue teams have gone to the area with essential supplies and are making every effort to bring the two men to safety, but the operation is expected to be lengthy, according to Dan Benga, director of the County Mountain Rescue Service.
