The Romanian authorities are preparing a legislative act on the transposition into national law of international sanctions imposed on Russian companies Lukoil and Rosneft.
Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan estimated that the final version of this legislative act will most likely be presented next week at the government meeting.
Bogdan Ivan explained a few days ago that so far at least three companies have expressed interest in taking over the Lukoil petrol station network and the Petrotel refinery that the Russian company owns in Romania.
In this context, the energy minister specified that Lukoil's debts to the Romanian state amount to hundreds of millions of lei.
Last month, the United States and the United Kingdom imposed sanctions on Russia's largest oil companies, Lukoil and Rosneft, which finance Russia's war effort through hydrocarbon exports.
The US Treasury has stated that companies doing business with the two giants have until November 21 to cease all transactions with Lukoil.
