The Renasterea Foundation marks 25 years of activity through an event of strong symbolic value: the Pink Lighting of the Cotroceni Palace, on October 1, on the occasion of the National Breast Cancer Day.
Now in its 25th edition, “Pink Lighting” represents a public call to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and access to diagnosis and treatment for all women in Romania, in a context in which the cancer survival rate remains well below the European average.
On this occasion, the President of the Renasterea Foundation, Mihaela Geoana, was invited by Daniela Mihai and Johan Pohrib to the radio show Friends.
We managed to save lives through education campaigns, free investigations offered in our mobile centers and units, and through projects that brought prevention closer to vulnerable communities.
For 25 years, the Renasterea Foundation has been the voice of prevention and hope for women in Romania. I am very emotional when I meet again the ladies who were diagnosed at the Renasterea Centers, but what makes me most happy is that today they are healthy, together with their families, said Mihaela Geoana, President of the Renasterea Foundation on the radio show.
Mihaela Geoana added that the most important thing is that in Romania there are screening programs for the detection of these diseases, as they exist in many Western countries.
