The PSD-PNL coalition announces separate candidatures for the Mayor's office

The PSD-PNL coalition has decided to go with separate candidacies for the post of general mayor of the capital, namely Gabriela Firea for PSD and Sebastian Burduja for PNL.

The decision was taken in order to mobilise the electorates of the two parties as much as possible, political sources said. The decision comes at the end of a coalition meeting convened following information in the press about the alleged incompatibility of Dr Catalin Carstoiu.

He is accused of having given consultations to a private clinic as manager of the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital.

At the same time, the coalition leaders decided that the candidates for the capital's districts will remain common, as will the lists for the local councils.
