The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms the death of a Romanian citizen in the Switzerland fire

On Sunday, President Nicusor Dan sent a message of condolence to the family of the young Romanian who died in the fire in Switzerland, in the resort of Crans-Montana.
A Romanian is among the 40 people who died in Switzerland in the New Year's Eve fire in a bar in Crans-Montana.
The Foreign Ministry in Bucharest confirms that the Romanian - who was initially reported missing - is dead and says it is in contact with his family.
Swiss police, quoted by Reuters, announced that they had identified 16 more bodies, 10 of which belong to Swiss nationals.
Specialists have also identified three Italians, one Frenchman, and one Turk.
Next Friday, January 9, will be a day of national mourning in Switzerland in memory of the victims. Meanwhile, a criminal case has been opened for manslaughter and arson against the two owners of the bar.
At the same time, the process of identifying the victims is underway, which, according to the authorities, could take several days. Of the 119 people injured, most are Swiss.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds Romanian citizens that they can request consular assistance by calling the Romanian Embassy in Bern: call center: +41 31 351 05 46 and +41 31 351 05 47, with calls being redirected to the Contact and Support Center for Romanian Citizens Abroad (CCSCRS) and answered by call center operators on a 24/7 basis.
