The leaders of the governing parties have decided that the elections for the General Mayor of the Capital and for the leadership of the Buzau County Council will take place on December 7.
The First Vice President of the PNL, Ciprian Ciucu, mentioned that the parties forming the coalition will have their own candidates and agreed that they will not attack each other in the campaign and there will be no withdrawals of candidates. It will be a decent campaign for the election of a new general mayor of Bucharest, the USR vice president, Ionut Mosteanu, also said.
Ionut Mosteanu: I think that the leaders can maintain a decent tone and set the tone in their parties. Now, regarding the parties, you know how it is, they are made of different kinds of people...they are like a country. When you are talking about tens of thousands of people or hundreds of thousands of people, you cannot control everyone, and it would be bad if that happened, there would be no democracy. There will certainly be more strident voices, but our commitment, of the leaders, in the coalition, was that we would hold a decent campaign and I hope that will be the case.
The procedures regarding the submission of candidacies and the organization of the electoral campaign will begin as soon as the executive establishes, by government decision, the date of December 7 for the organization of the partial local elections.
