The government will continue to follow the main directions on which it has focused its activity since taking office, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said on Friday, October 3, when presenting the balance sheet of the first 100 days of activity.
"It's pointless to increase taxes if you don't collect them", he stressed, speaking about revenue collection. In this regard, completing the digitalization of ANAF and customs, combating tax evasion and undeclared work, were mentioned among the priorities.
The other component of governance, limiting state spending, has the administration reform as an urgent matter, in the context of efforts to strengthen budgetary discipline and put the economy back on solid foundations.
For this, more people are needed in the real economy, Ilie Bolojan specified, mentioning a series of measures taken into account for this purpose.
"Raising the early retirement age is economically unsustainable and socially unacceptable to have people retiring at 48-50 years old, with pensions equal to their salaries. Reducing the unemployment period is a necessity, because in almost all major cities in Romania you have no one to work with and the private sector suffers from a serious lack of labor. Discouraging the unjustified granting of sick leave. It is also necessary for social spending to be strictly oriented towards those with low incomes, and any overlapping of incomes in this area, any kind of unjustified granting, must be stopped in such a way that, in this area too, the resources we have go to those who really need support", declared Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
