RADIO ROMANIA NEWS (1 March) - "Radiojurnal" - Producer: Nicoleta Turcu - The Capital's budget for 2024 was rejected by the General Council, meeting in an extraordinary session. The draft budget was not approved due to lack of quorum, as PSD councillors did not attend the meeting, while liberals criticized the lack of investments, the fact that the budget does not include all the debts of the municipality or the too high amounts that would be allocated for protocol and various events.
Mayor General Nicusor Dan reminded them that during his term of office he had managed to ensure that the Capital City Hall had no current debts.
Nicusor Dan: At the moment, no one can seize the City Hall's accounts, as many were able to seize the City Hall's accounts in the previous mandate. We have no current debts, including the debts to STB, they are staggered, everything is staggered, and they are included in the budget we have.
Reporter: If the City Hall budget is not adopted by March 5, the institution risks not being able to pay salaries and fuel for public transport.
