The administrative reform package must be adopted before the 2026 budget in order to ensure financial discipline, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said on PRO TV. He also said that the bill includes a recommendation that all ministries reduce their spending by 10 percent, which does not mean that salaries must be cut.

Ilie Bolojan: All laws that establish a sound budget, control spending, and ensure budgetary discipline must be adopted first, on the one hand, and on the other hand, it is difficult to start making exceptions, and all of us in public office, all ministries, in one form or another, must be part of this effort. I emphasize that they should not cut salaries, but rather manage their personnel expenses, refrain from hiring, review bonuses, and reorganize their activities more effectively.
