Romanian universities should be more actively involved in promoting projects such as the introduction of the European diploma, according to the Commissioner for Education and Skills, Roxana Minzatu. Yesterday, she participated in a dialogue organized by the European Expertise Center and the University of Bucharest, which focused on education and its role in development, including economic development.
Roxana Minzatu: The question is what do we do next with this concept of alliance, just be present in an alliance, just participate, or be proactive and even set the tone for debates? I would very much like Romanian universities and their entire ecosystem, which believe in alliances, to generate debates not only with entities in Romania, but throughout this region of Europe, about the European diploma. These debates can then be translated into positions that we hope the ministers of education in the Council will take, and then we can move a little faster towards a vote that will formalize the launch of the idea of a European diploma. It is in preparation, but it is still happening quite slowly.
