Romanian president discusses measures to reduce budget deficit

President Nicusor Dan is holding a press conference in which he is expected to give his opinion on the first package of fiscal measures adopted by Parliament under Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

The president announced the press conference on Saturday at the PNL congress, when he promised to answer all journalists' questions.

Nicusor Dan has not yet reacted to the first economic measures, which include an increase in value added tax, which he promised during the election campaign would not rise.

The president is also expected to explain his decision not to sign dozens of decrees on the retirement of magistrates and may also talk about the appointment of the heads of the secret services.
