Romania will continue to have active coal-fired power plants, and the risk of running out of electricity during the winter is zero, the energy minister said.
The coal-fired power plants in the city of Craiova will continue to operate to maintain the supply of heat, electricity and steam for the Ford company and those in Govora, Bogdan Ivan explained at the joint press conference, in which the Minister of European Funds, Dragos Pislaru, announced the approval by the European Commission of the modified version of the NRRP.
4.500 people will keep their jobs because three coal-fired power plants will operate until 2029, the minister also said.
