Romania and Switzerland signed a partnership on Friday to increase disaster response capacity. Romanian pilots from the General Inspectorate of Aviation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be trained in mountain rescue, low-altitude flying and night flying. The project is financed by a Swiss cooperation program with Romania.
During the press conference after the signing of the document, the representative of the Swiss air rescue service, Stefan Becker, emphasized that the techniques used in his country will be adapted to the specific conditions in Romania.
Stefan Becker: First of all, it is not just a project in which we are talking about geopiloting skills and operational skills. It is very important to also share the corporate culture we have at Rega, the way we approach internal learning to ensure the safety of this operation. So, here we share these organizational factors, the soft factors from an organizational perspective, but also the very detailed way from the helicopter cockpit, to train Romanian rescuers as we train our own and to deal with unforeseen situations.
