Before the no-confidence motion, the government also held a meeting. It adopted the National Strategy for Combating Cardiovascular Diseases, with provisions that prioritize the development of the health information system, as well as research programs in this field. The executive also adopted a decision to extend the life of Unit 1 of the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant.
Andrei Serban is at the Victoria Palace and has details: "The National Strategy for Combating Cardiovascular Diseases provides for actions until 2030. It aims to establish a registry of patients with high vascular risk, reduce the average transport time for major cardiovascular emergencies to intervention centers by at least 20%, and develop at least two mobile phone applications and online platforms for use by patients.
The strategy also provides for an increase in the number of cardiologists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and specialized nurses, as well as the number of cardiology consultations performed in county hospitals. In addition, over the next seven years, the aim is for at least 80% of county hospitals to have a cardiology department with a dedicated on-call service.
Another legislative act adopted at Monday's executive meeting provides for the modernization of Unit 1 at the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant. Two main objectives will be pursued: the modernization of the nuclear and conventional systems of the unit and, secondly, the construction and commissioning of modules with double the storage capacity of the current ones for the storage of spent and cooled fuel, which will result from the operation of Units 1 and 2."
