The public administration reform bill and the economic recovery package, strongly advocated by the PSD, were among the topics discussed on Monday afternoon during a coalition meeting held at Victoria Palace.
Petruta Obrejan reports on the conclusions of the meeting: "Until now, coalition leaders wanted public administration reform and economic recovery measures to be part of the same package of measures that the government intends to bring before Parliament as soon as possible. Today, however, discussions at the meeting were animated by a new idea, which divided the coalition into two camps once again.
According to political sources, the Liberals and the USR would like to see the two projects separated, while the Social Democrats and the UDMR rejected the idea, arguing that these commitments must take place simultaneously, as agreed five months ago, especially since, they say, there is also an agreement in principle from all parties on the measures included in the economic recovery package, which proposes, among other things, tax deductions for companies that reinvest their profits in development, the allocation of funds to support foreign investment, and research and development.
Last but not least, fiscal stability is another important aspect of this package, and in this regard, the aim is to maintain current taxes and provide more predictability for businesses.
