PSD leader, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, said that he has given his resignation from the party's leadership to the secretary general.
He said he will stand by his colleagues until after the parliamentary elections.
Marcel Ciolacu also announced that he will no longer run for a leading position in the party.
The PSD leader's decision comes after he ran in the presidential elections and failed to reach the second round.
