PSD could leave the government in the first half of next year. The party entered a period of internal analysis on Tuesday after six months of participation in the Bolojan government, an analysis at the end of which the Social Democrats will decide whether or not to move into opposition, announced the party leader, Sorin Grindeanu.
The evaluation will be made through a broad internal consultation, similar to the one after which the PSD decided to be part of the coalition, he explained, and the answer is expected after the budget for next year is finalized, probably at the beginning of February.
Sorin Grindeanu: Sure, it includes everything related to the public agenda and the decisions that will be taken by the government, by Prime Minister Bolojan in the coming period, it depends on these decisions, it depends on the budget, on how it is wanted to be built, it depends on how our proposals are taken into account.
All these things will count in the analysis that I said we started today, whether we are talking about the minimum wage, whether we are talking about local or central administration, or whether we are talking about the 2026 budget. In the end we will vote, as we did six months ago, and we will decide with full knowledge of the facts.
Until then, PSD has decided not to vote on Monday on the new motion of censure initiated by the parliamentary group PEACE - Romania First, supported by AUR, and which would like to remove USR from the government, Radio Romania News reporter Petruta Dinu transmitted.
Meanwhile, Sorin Grindeanu arrived at the government to discuss with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan about the Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, whose resignation was demanded by the Social Democratic parliamentarians for the way she managed the water crisis in Paltinu.
