Prime Minister Bolojan, economic discussions in Brussels

The discussion with Valdis Dombrovskis, the Commissioner for the Economy, is all the more important as the government in Bucharest is preparing the budget rectification, and here the balancing must be coordinated with the targets assumed by Romania.
Closely related to the budget deficit is the subject of the NRRP, a plan that was recently modified by Romania and sent to Brussels, in order to attract as many funds as possible for delayed projects, which would be a breath of fresh air for the economic situation of Romania.
A second meeting of the Prime Minister is taking place right now and is with Andrius Kubilius, the Commissioner for Defense.
The discussions target projects worth almost 17 billion euros, which Romania wants to implement by 2030, with advantageous financing based on the European SAFE program. These are strictly military projects, but also some with dual use, such as highways in Moldova. These projects must be detailed and submitted by Romania in November, a deadline valid for all European states, hence the need for the Prime Minister to coordinate with the European Executive.
Finally, the last meeting will be with Roxana Minzatu, the Romanian Commissioner for Social Affairs. The discussion will focus on the future multiannual budget of the Union, a budget from which Romania will attract non-reimbursable funds and which has now entered into negotiation between the Commission, the Council and the Community Parliament.
The Commission has proposed a new structure of this European budget, and Romania, like the rest of the member states, is preparing a response both for the negotiation in the Council and to position itself as best as possible in the absorption of the funds.
