The Constitutional Court has received information from Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan regarding the consequences of postponing decisions on magistrates' pensions, sources within the CCR said. Recently, the Prime Minister said that, if the Court's judges postpone the delivery of a decision again, there is a very high probability that Romania will lose funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
"The government has repeatedly tried to resolve an injustice, but has been hit by cascading extensions from the Constitutional Court", the Prime Minister noted. Ilie Bolojan recalled that on the milestone related to magistrates' pensions, the amount withheld from Romania is 230 million euros, as the European Commission considers that this target has not yet been met.
However, the Commission representatives informed the authorities in Bucharest that they would wait until February 11, the new deadline for analysis given by the Court, to send Romania the official evaluation letter.
