Several dozen AUR members and supporters responded to the call launched by the leaders of the political party and gathered on Thursday in front of the Bucharest Tribunal, where they demanded the revocation of the tax increases and the resignation of the Government. It was an action in support of the request made in court by AUR MEP Gheorghe Piperea, to suspend the emergency ordinance that increased the amount of local taxes.
Gheorghe Piperea: This is a protest against Mr. Bolojan's austerity policy, an austerity policy that categorically leads to economic and social problems, affecting everyone, except, of course, those on the short list of those who in one way or another support these austerity policies - corporations, NGOs, etc.
The court is due to rule on February 18.
The leaders of AUR called for a general protest the other day, where on Thursday at 12:00, people would send a message to the governors: "This can't go on!"
Similar demonstrations also took place at noon in Braila, Galati, Petrosani, Slatina and Resita, as well as in several localities in Constanta County, as reported by RRA correspondents.
