Parliament adopted a Declaration to mark 20 years of Romania's accession to NATO and 75 years of existence of the North Atlantic Alliance

Parliament adopted by a large majority a Joint Declaration of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, which met in a joint session to mark the 20th anniversary of Romania's accession to NATO and the 75th anniversary of the North Atlantic Alliance.

The document stresses that Romania's membership of the Alliance is a protection guarantee of citizens, democracy and individual freedoms.

It is our responsibility to continue to support the legitimate aspirations of other vulnerable states in our neighbourhood, such as Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, to adhere to these values, the statement added.
