On Sunday, Parliament will debate and vote on the four censure motions submitted by the AUR party against the Government led by Ilie Bolojan.
These target most of the legislative projects, for which the executive assumed responsibility at the beginning of the week. With details, Roman Musat.
Reporter: Through the four motions, presented on Thursday, in the joint session of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, the signatories criticized both the content of the projects and the way in which the Government is trying to adopt them. The Alliance for the Unity of Romanians qualifies the respective measures adopted without debate, consultations or parliamentary vote as legislative abuses.
Among the criticized fiscal decisions are the maintenance of the minimum turnover tax, which would affect small companies, the increase in the tax on stock market transactions, the increase in the CASS for independent activities, as well as the corporate governance project, which would disadvantage Romanian companies.
AUR did not file a motion of censure in the case of the draft law that reduces the pensions of magistrates, but it was challenged by the magistrates of the High Court of Cassation and Justice at the Constitutional Court, which will discuss it on September 24.
The five draft laws of the Government, which are part of the second package of measures aimed at reducing state spending, come with major changes in the fiscal, healthcare and judicial systems, as well as in the administration of state enterprises and the main regulatory authorities.
According to the Constitution, in the case of engaging the government's responsibility for a draft law, the adoption of a motion of censure in Parliament means the fall of the executive, and its rejection, the adoption of the document.
