Nuclearelectrica to sign the contract for the construction of reactors 3 and 4 at the Cernavoda power plant

The shareholders of Nuclearelectrica will vote at the General Assembly on November 14 to approve the contract for the construction of units 3 and 4 at Cernavoda, announced Energy Minister Sebastian Burduja.
The project will be implemented by an international consortium made up of three companies from the United States, Canada and Italy, which will contribute 7 billion dollars to the financing.
The contract will be signed at COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, on November 17.
"The project for units 3 and 4 at Cernavoda is the most important step for the national energy system", said the energy minister, adding that "the Romanian civil nuclear program means safe, affordable and carbon-free energy, lower bills for Romanians, jobs and development".
