MIF: 24.000 policemen, gendarmes and firefighters on duty during New Year's Eve

RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - Almost 24.000 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be on duty during the four free days of the New Year's mini-holiday, and on the roads the Traffic Police will monitor traffic with 360 radars and will place more filters to detect drunk or drugged drivers.
At the same time, the authorities announce that they have confiscated more than 100 tons of pyrotechnic articles, opened more than 500 criminal cases and make a new appeal, especially to parents, not to buy firecrackers for children.
Monica Dajbog, spokeswoman for the Ministry of the Interior: Considering that during this period, and especially on New Year's Eve, many citizens use pyrotechnic articles, we again draw attention to the fact that they can be extremely dangerous. If not used properly, with the use of all measures to protect people, animals, the environment and property, pyrotechnic materials can cause serious injury to the people who use them or those around them, can cause fires or even tragedies. Those bought from unauthorized economic agents or from various people on the street present very high risks. Don't put yourself at risk for a few moments of entertainment. Parents are requested to ensure that such items are not used by children. The consequences can be extremely serious.
