On Thursday, in the first meeting chaired by interim Prime Minister Catalin Predoiu, the Romanian Government adopted a memorandum that will allow the Minister of European Investments and Projects to renegotiate the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, in order to avoid losing the grant of more than 13 billion euro included in the NRRP, and to increase to 5 billion euro the amount of payment claim number 4.
In the coming period, Romania is to access important European funds, Minister Marcel Bolos announced after Thursday's meeting of the Executive:
Marcel Bolos: Partial payment claim number 3 is to be cashed at the end of May, amounting to 1.3 billion euro. Also, very importantly, at the end of April we submitted payment applications from the Cohesion Policy, which is Romania's second source of funding, with a budget of 44 billion euro. We submitted payment applications for 1.8 billion euro.
This money would be directed towards projects in areas such as transportation and the construction of gas and water networks.
