RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The Supreme Council of National Defence met yesterday to discuss the serious security situation in the Black Sea region and its implications for Romania, according to the Presidential Administration. In the context of the analysis of the current situation, Council members ordered measures to strengthen the Romanian armed forces, as well as a set of actions aimed at strengthening the national cyber security system.

Oana Bala: "For Romania, the war in Ukraine maintains the risks of incidents that may affect the territory and citizens, but also the dangers in terms of safety of navigation in the Black Sea. Against this background, the members of the Council examined the measures taken to protect the integrity of our country's territory and population, as well as the additional actions required as a result of the worsening security situation in the region. They also ordered measures to strengthen the armed forces and decided to pursue diplomatic steps to stop Russia's military aggression in Ukraine. The meeting also approved the progress report on defence planning, which aims to align with operational planning and the integration of national priorities, including those not included in the current capability package. Council members also assessed the work carried out in the field of cyber security and reviewed the work of the Council last year, forwarding the progress report to Parliament for approval."
