On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the Romanian people on their National Day. The United States and Romania share a strong and growing partnership based on common strategic interests in security, energy cooperation, and trade, Rubio said, according to a statement from the US Embassy in Bucharest.
The United States welcomes Romania's regional leadership and encourages it to continue its role in promoting stability in the Black Sea region, the US official said.
Romania's commitment to allocate 5% of its GDP to defense by 2035 will strengthen the NATO Alliance and lay the foundation for growing prosperity in the years to come.
The United States looks forward to continued cooperation in defense and the development of trade and investment, which are beneficial to both nations.
