Klaus Iohannis promulgated the amendments to the Law on State Higher Education

President Klaus Iohannis has promulgated amendments to the law on state higher education, according to which those enrolling in university must be notified of tuition fees in advance and these cannot be changed during a course of study.

The initiators of the law explained that for years universities have been violating the rights of students enrolled in fee-paying education, and the law now gives them a clear guarantee that tuition fees will not be increased during their studies.

The document was passed by parliament earlier this year.
