Health is the area that lost the most money from the NRRP

Vaslui County Hospital is on the list of medical units whose projects can no longer be financed through the NRRP and will be transferred to European funds from the 2021-2027 health program. There are eight hospitals in this situation throughout the country that currently have an execution stage of less than 36%.
In an intervention for Radio Romania Iasi, the former manager of Vaslui County Hospital, Ana Rinder, highlighted the importance of continuing this investment, which involves the modernization and appropriate equipment of the medical unit and spoke about the reasons that led to delays in the project.
Ana Rinder: I can speak, for example, of the Vaslui County Emergency Hospital, where the project worth 70 million euros involved the construction from scratch of three departments that were operating in a 100-year-old building that had long been out of compliance. When the investment and excavations began, we had some cultural and archaeological discoveries, and this delayed the project by approximately seven months. The prospect of non-realization of the investment and the cessation of funding on the NRRP could only give us chills, 70 million euros from the budget of a county like Vaslui was hard to believe that it could be achieved, and for us it is good news.
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated yesterday that the reduction of funds allocated to Romania on the loan component of the NRRP, over contracting and delays in certain projects required the identification of alternative sources of financing for the eight medical units. We remind you that health is the area that lost the most money from the NRRP, amounting to over 700 million euros.
