Four trains modernized through the NRRP have entered service

Four new trains, modernized with NRRP funds, have been running since Tuesday on the Brasov - Bucharest North - Constanta route and back on a permanent basis, not just during the summer season, CFR Calatori announced.
The trains will operate four InterRegio and Intercity services connecting Brasov and Constanta via Bucharest.
As the modernized rolling stock is delivered, the completed locomotives and carriages will be distributed mainly to Intercity trains, without excluding their use on InterRegio trains on other routes: Arad, Cluj, Iasi, Craiova, Galati, Suceava, and Timisoara.
In total, CFR Calatori will use European funds, through the NRRP, to modernize 55 electric locomotives for passenger trains, convert 20 diesel-hydraulic shunting locomotives into electric locomotives with batteries, and modernize 139 carriages.
