The government adopted a memorandum in Thursday's meeting that allows environmental projects removed from financing through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan to be supported by the Environmental Fund.
Through this measure, the executive aims to complete essential investments for local communities, such as the expansion of water and sewage networks or the development of waste management infrastructure. Andrei Serban with details.
Reporter: The Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, recalled that the government's decision is that all projects that have an implementation degree of less than 30% will no longer be financed from the NRRP, because they will not be completed by the middle of next year.
Because a number of important projects for local communities are in this situation, the ministry found the solution for them to receive money from the Environmental Fund Administration. For example, these are projects related to water and sewage, Diana Buzoianu pointed out.
Diana Buzoianu: All projects between 0 and 30% that provided for water-sewage, voluntary intake centers, factories for managing waste from stables, all these projects will be moved to AFM and we will save them. We are talking about projects that can save entire communities, projects that we have worked for in the last two months to do exactly that.
Diana Buzoianu also specified that there are over 150 local communities that currently do not have water and sewage.
