This is an important week for Romania in terms of revising the National Recovery and Resilience Plan: European Commission officials are in Bucharest for talks with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and the ministers responsible for achieving the objectives and milestones set out in the NRRP. The Minister of European Investments and Projects, Dragos Pislaru, recently pointed out that Romania must send the revised plan to Brussels in order to save as much European money as possible.
Reporter: Romania's big challenge is to not lose the eight billion euros in grants offered through the NRRP, and to this end, just this morning, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan met with Celine Gauer, head of the NRRP.
This was followed by a meeting of the Interministerial Committee coordinating this national plan.
In fact, Investment Minister Dragos Pislaru said that discussions with European Commission representatives visiting Bucharest are focused on the revision of this plan by the government, in partnership with the European Commission, to allocate projects that would allow the full use of non-reimbursable funds and the list of key projects from the loan component that the executive wants to implement by August next year.
Investment Minister Dragos Pislaru also said that attempts are being made to introduce financial instruments into the loan component to compensate, at least partially, for projects that are too delayed to be completed or that have had problems complying with European rules during their implementation.
