Dominic Fritz: The Ministry of Defense must be led by politicians, not technocrats

USR leader Dominic Fritz stated that it is possible that a new Minister of National Defense will be appointed this year and mentioned that he will consult with the head of state regarding the future nomination.
The USR president believes that a ministry of such importance must be led by politicians, not technocrats.
Dominic Fritz: We will announce the name when we have nominated it. Of course, I will also consult with the president, as I did last time. And, yes, I still believe that a difficult ministry, with weight, with national, international importance must be led by politicians, not by technocrats without political weight.
At the end of last month, Ionut Mosteanu resigned from the position of Minister of Defense, amid the scandal regarding his studies.
At the moment, the interim leadership of this ministry is provided by the USR Minister of Economy, Radu Miruta.
