Corporate governance standards in all public enterprises

The government will adopt on Thursday a draft law introducing the highest standards of corporate governance in all public enterprises, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said at the opening of the government meeting. He said that under this measure, all employees in the system, including heads of enterprises, will be paid according to performance and in line with the best practices of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which Romania is about to join.

All the performance indicators for each company and agency have already been published. Also on Thursday, the executive will approve support measures worth almost 1.5 billion lei for livestock breeders and vegetable growers. Funding of 1.2 billion lei will also be approved for 18 projects aimed at developing natural gas distribution networks.
