The NOCA Contemporary Visual Art Center, built by the Oradea City Hall with European funds, will open on Friday, October 17.
On this occasion, an inaugural exhibition is scheduled, featuring works by 13 artists, three of whom are from Oradea.
Located in the city center, on the banks of the Crisul Repede River, the NOCA Center – an acronym for New Oradea Contemporary Art – is an entirely glazed building, set to be a space offering various cultural activities aimed at putting the city on the international map of contemporary art.
However, its program will be much more diverse, as it will also include workshops for children, reading circles, contemporary dance and guided tours, and for this purpose the esplanade in front of the center and the open-air amphitheater built nearby, on the banks of the river, will also be used.
