Ciprian Ciucu won the elections for the capital's mayor

Ciprian Ciucu, the PNL candidate for the position of general mayor of the capital, won the elections held on Sunday.
According to the final official count of the Municipal Electoral Bureau, Ciprian Ciucu obtained 36 percent of the votes, followed by Anca Alexandrescu (candidate supported by AUR), with 22 percent of the votes, and Daniel Baluta (PSD), with almost 21 percent of the votes.
The presence at the polls in these elections was 32.71% of voters.
Ciprian Ciucu ran for the PNL and was until now the mayor of sector 6 in the capital.
The following places were Catalin Drula (USR), Ana Ciceala (SENS), Orlando Teodorovici (independent candidate) and Valentin Burcea (POT).
According to the Municipal Electoral Bureau, a total of 17 candidates registered in the elections for the Bucharest City Hall.
Sunday's elections were held after former mayor Nicusor Dan won the Romanian presidential election.
