Calin Georgescu to be heard at the General Prosecutor's Office

Former Romanian presidential candidate, Calin Georgescu, was summoned on Tuesday to the Prosecutor General's Office to be heard in the investigation into statements he made in a television program in which he quoted from legionary leader Corneliu Zelea Codreanu.

Calin Georgescu is under judicial control, which stipulates, among other things, that he is not allowed to engage in legionary propaganda, which is a criminal offense.

Calin Georgescu is being prosecuted on charges relating to six offenses, including incitement to actions against the constitutional order.

Prosecutors allege that he hatched a plan to destabilize Romania with the help of mercenaries led by Horatiu Potra after the Constitutional Court annulled the 2024 presidential elections.
