At the end of last month, Romania's budget deficit stood at 6.4 percent of GDP

Romania ended the first 11 months of the year with a budget deficit of 121.77 billion lei, equivalent to 6.4 percent of gross domestic product, down from 7.15 percent in the same period of 2024, the Ministry of Finance announced on Monday.
During the same period, revenues increased by 13 percent, supported by higher tax revenues, social contributions, and European funds, while expenditures increased by 9.9 percent.
The budget deficit target for the whole year is 8.4 percent of GDP, or 159.8 billion lei.
