President of the United States, Donald J. Trump will welcome President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis to the White House on August 20, 2019. The two leaders will discuss how best to meet the many shared security challenges facing the United States and Romania and ways to advance fair and reciprocal trade and energy partnerships. The visit will occur as Romanians mark the 30th year since the fall of communism and the 15th year of Romania’s membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. US President looks forward to celebrating these important anniversaries with President Iohannis – reads a Statement from White House Press Secretary.

RRA Reporter Carmen Gavrilă: "Statement from Romanian Presidency shows that Donald Trump and Klaus Iohannis have scheduled talks on strengthening and further developing the Strategic Partnership in all its dimensions, including on security and economy. According to Romanian Presidential Administration, Klaus Iohannis will also highlight that Romania will continue to be a solid strategic partner and a responsible and reliable ally of the United States. In Washington, Iohannis will underline that one of Romania’s priorities in foreign policy is to strengthen the transatlantic relationship and the security of the Euro-Atlantic area".
