Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs from the EU Member States meet in Luxembourg, where they will address topics of maximum interest for strengthening the area of justice, freedom and security of the European Union.

It is the first formal working meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council (JHA) under the auspices of the Finnish EU Council Presidency, Romanian Ministry of Justice announced.

For two days, discussions will focus on fight against corruption and cross-border crime, establishment of the European Public Prosecutor's Office and accession of the European Union to the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).

Also on agenda - combating hate speech in the online environment, protection of personal data and relationship between democracy, rule of law and fundamental rights.

Romanian Minister of Justice, Ana Birchall, who is attending the meeting, will also have talks with counterparts in EU Member States.
