Darius Vâlcov, Economic Adviser of Romanian Prime Minister, is currently under investigation for unauthorized disclosure of classified information that threatens national security.
Investigation has been ordered by prosecutors of the Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).
Case was opened after Darius Vâlcov posted on Facebook in August 2018 a collaboration protocol between the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) and the General Prosecutor's Office, which was classified.
According to judicial sources, Vâlcov has been indicted since February 2019, and has been summoned for hearings twice, but he refused to make statements, relying on the „right to silence”.
