A busy agenda is expected for Parliament this week. Among the bills awaiting adoption are the one that modifies the private pension payment system and the one regarding the exemption of mothers, war veterans or the disabled from paying social health insurance contributions. The latter was initiated by the PSD to correct some measures for which the government has taken responsibility.
Reporter: Amalia Bojescu - "The measure corrects the first package for which the Government assumed responsibility and protects vulnerable people, the social democrats said during the debates. USR and PNL senators abstained from voting. Daniel Fenechiu, PNL senator, leader of the liberals' group, explained the reason.
Daniel Fenechiu: The principle of solidarity requires that every person who benefits from health care pay for it. When the budget allows it, then yes, you come up with measures. Today there is no money. If the social democrats have these resources, maybe they will tell Bolojan, "sir, I found the money bag and we will give the money from there".
The PSD initiatives were supported by AUR. The party's senator Dorina Barcari said that the proposals are good, but not enough.
Dorina Barcari: There should be a salary law that does not exist. A salary law does nothing more than block the synecdoche, and if that happens, the private system is no longer suffocated, and should be able to pay its employees nicely, at a normal level, according to the law.
The bills are awaiting a vote in the Senate, after which they will go to the Chamber of Deputies, which is the decision-making body. Here too, a PSD bill is on the legislative circuit regarding the reintroduction of scholarships for students and corrective measures to hourly pay for teachers, for which the Government has assumed responsibility.
Also in the Chamber of Deputies, the bill on the withdrawal of money from private pension funds is entering the debate of the specialized committees, a document amended in the Senate, meaning that patients with oncological diseases will have the right to fully recover the money, upon request, in a single installment.
The Chamber of Deputies is also the decision-making body in the case of the bill which will regulate the access of minors up to 16 years of age to major online platforms, but also to a certain type of content on the Internet.”
