A new tranche of funding for the NRRP is due to enter the Romanian state's accounts next month - €1.3 billion.
However, this amount represents only half of payment claim 3, as not all the related commitments have been met.
Nevertheless, these funds represent an important contribution to balancing the receipts from the budget - Finance Minister Tanczos Barna said today on Radio Romania News.
He recalled that within the framework of the NRRP Romania has to make several reforms in order to get the funding, but also because they are necessary, and these will be the task of the next executive.
Tanczos Barna: There is a need to take these reforms further, there is a need not only for a majority in the Romanian Parliament, there is also a need for a responsible government that comes and takes this package of reforms and projects forward. Romania cannot afford to lose these funds and the commitment must continue to be firm. Romania has been engaged in fiscal consolidation since last year, and this tax reform package must ensure better revenue collection and stability in the medium and long term in order to cope with increased payment and financing needs.
The finance minister also stressed that the interim government has secured the necessary funds to pay salaries and pensions and to continue investments.
