Defense Minister Discusses Strengthening NATO's Eastern Flank with NATO Secretary General

Defense Minister Radu Miruta announced today on Facebook that he discussed with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte about strengthening the Alliance's eastern flank and Romania's essential role in this architecture.

The Romanian official emphasized that the eastern flank means the entire segment from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea, and resources must be distributed in a balanced manner along this entire strategic axis.

The Defense Minister also said that Romania must be seen as a central pillar in the Black Sea region.

Radu Miruta participated in the Munich Security Conference.
