AUR announces the formation of the "United Opposition" against the governing coalition

The leaders of the AUR senators and deputies, Petrisor Peiu and Mihai Enache, announced the formation of the 'United Opposition' against the governing coalition. The initiative emerged following a meeting of representatives of several sovereignist forces, which took place at the Parliament. The AUR representatives convey that they are ready to overcome the differences with the other sovereignist parties in order to act in a unified manner.

Petrisor Peiu, leader of the AUR senators: We have a very clear message that we want to make "Total Opposition - National Opposition" to the way in which the current governing coalition abuses the very large majority they have in Parliament. On this occasion we come with a very clear message to all opposition parliamentarians and MEPs, that we have proven that we can remain stable and united and we believe that we can build an opposition force around us, based on a few minimum rules of collaboration.

The opposition has not managed to collect the necessary signatures to initiate the procedure for suspending the President of Romania from office, but the discussions between the representatives of the sovereignist parties also aim to collaborate to support motions, constitutional steps and to harmonize the calendar of peaceful civic and street actions.
