The authorities are doing what is necessary to stabilize the budget deficit at 8.4% and demonstrate that the state knows how to realistically respond to challenges and create the conditions for development, financial stability and well-being for citizens, in the context in which the economic growth estimated at the beginning of the year was not confirmed, and inflation remained high, says the Minister of Finance.
The draft budget rectification was published on Monday, after the governing coalition agreed on the final form, which is now subject to public debate on the mfinante.ro website.
Alexandru Nazare explains, in a post on the internet, that the rectification guarantees the payment of pensions, allowances, health benefits and social support for vulnerable Romanians, ensures the functioning of public institutions, schools, hospitals, local authorities, many of which could have been in difficulty by the end of the year, maintains the trust of European and international partners in Romania's capacity to make responsible fiscal and budgetary decisions and, at the same time, maintains public investments at a record level, over 150 billion lei, in infrastructure, education, health and energy, investments that continue to support economic growth and jobs, the Minister of Finance also writes.
The rectification is expected to be approved by the Government this week.
