"There is no danger" of being drawn into a military conflict with Russia

Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu said there was no danger that Romania would be drawn into a military conflict with the Russian Federation at the moment.
He added, however, in a televised speech that in the event of a Russian military action in Ukraine, there would be a response to the Russian Federation from both NATO, through a proportionate and consistent consolidation of the eastern flank, and the European Union, which will respond with a substantial package of economic and individual sanctions.
Bogdan Aurescu also said that there is, at this moment, an extremely strong system, which offers all possible guarantees for the security and stability of Romania and its citizens, namely the NATO membership, to which is added the very strong strategic partnership with the United States.
